Documentation and Software Upgrade:

Note:
All our adapters USB-FPA 4.0 and up (USB-FPA 4.x, 5.0 and 6.0) use the same USB drivers. We provide drivers for Win-98SE, Win-ME, Win-2000, Win-XP (32 and 64 bits), VISTA (32 and 64 bits) and Win-7 (32 and 64 bits). When you install software package for desired programmer (FlashPro430, GangPro430, FlashPro-CC, GangPro-CC, FlashPro2000) then the USB drivers are located in the following directory

C:\Program Files\Elprotronic\Drivers USB-FPA

Make sure that you are using the latest software when the newer USB-FPA 6.0 adapter is used. The USB drivers are the same, but the old application software cannot recognize the newer adapter. If you are using DLL in your application, then copy and paste desired DLL from the latest software package to your application. The API-DLL are backward compatible and support the new and all older USB-FPA adapters. Type of the USB-FPA adapters are recognized automatically.

Software instalation:
   1. Downlad desired software *.zip file.
   2. Unzip the file to a temporary directory.
   3. Run the installation program (Setup.exe) from a temporary directory.
   4. Once the installation program starts, on-screen instructions will guide you through the instalation process.
   5. Restart computer.
Note: In some laptops, like the IBM Think pad, restarting only might not be sufficient to properly install the drivers. Cycling power (turn the power OFF ) has shown to remedy this problem.
